UPDATE: Reviews Added

July 1, 2007

The reviews for Kingu Kongu tai Gojira and The Turning Point have been added to the site for your viewing/reading/sponge-like absorbing pleasure. You know ya wanna soak up these reviews like some sort of sea anemone! Give in to those oceanic urges, my barnacled friends! … Yeah I have no idea what I’m talking about. But I do know the official review count has reached the 100 mark! Whoo-hoo! Break out the biscuits and wine coolers, eh what?

Check out the ‘Sunshine’ trailer…

July 1, 2007

http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/sunshine/hd/

This is a lengthy trailer filled to the brim with spoilers, but director Danny Boyle seems to have crafted something truly intriguing with Sunshine. It will surely remind many of 2001: A Space Odyssey, especially what with the chilling, female version of HAL, but the visuals are beautiful and the acting appears to be very solid. And I say that considering Chris Evans is part of the cast, a man who seemed so bored in The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer I thought he would evaporate and fade into the set like a gas. So yeah, check out the trailer, unless you would like to remain spoiler-free.

* The purpose of these more traditionally blog-style posts is to ensure the content of the site is kept fresh and moving forward. Don’t worry, though, another issue of RC is on its way, as well as another Trailer of the Weak. Oh, and there’s a handful of new classic lines of dialogue over in the Potent Quotables section. Hope you’re enjoying everything!

Quick plug for Michael Moore’s ‘Sicko’

June 30, 2007

I feel it’s important for everyone to go out and see ‘Sicko’, the latest documentary from Michael Moore. It will break your heart, make you laugh out loud and boil over with anger over its two hour running time, and so not a minute is worth missing. If you’ve ever worried about getting sick under America’s watch, then you absolutely must hear the stories presented in this film. Believe me when I say that few movies make me cry outright, and the fact that ‘Sicko’ tipped that scale in its first fifteen minutes is downright amazing. Please, see the film.

NEW Feature: Trailers of the Weak

June 25, 2007

While its name may be considered one of the worst puns to be pecked out on one man’s keyboard, Cinebomb’s latest recurring feature, Trailers of the Weak, is sure to entertain those looking for a little more cynicism in their diet. Every week I’ll be taking a look at a trailer that really struck me as being downright lame, and to start things off I’ve decided to poke fun at the trailer for Stardust. What the heck is Stardust, you may ask? Well, click on the link in the right column and find out, ya varmints! … I’m sorry, that was uncalled for, you’re not varmints. Please, forgive me.

May 28, 2007

The reviews from April’s issue of Rogue Cinema have been posted on the site, so feel free to rejoice and give thanks to the heavens. Be on the lookout for a post regarding June’s issue of the magazine, which will feature all new reviews and a ton of other features from the staff. Have a nice day! — P.S. The total number of reviews has risen to 98, so I’ll soon be able to jump the now not-so-elusive 100 review hurdle. Whoo!

ROGUE CINEMA: April 2007 Issue

April 1, 2007

Go to Rogue Cinema’s main page (http://roguecinema.com/index.php) for the latest in reviews, interviews, and articles. For my part it’s been quite an eclectic month for film criticism, running the gamut of sweaty Spartan soldiers and intergalactic cheesecake to Kathie Lee Gifford’s insatiable need to be on camera no matter what the result. Here’s the official rundown of the issue, ladies and gents:

Reviews: The Pirate Movie, Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy, 300, and Kathie Lee’s Rock ‘n Tots Cafe: Rockin’ Roundup.

The Actor’s Perspective – Fine Tuning: This month’s column examines apathy in the actor and why it is crucial to always reboot one’s creative juices.

Happy reading, everyone!

UPDATE: Reviews/Article Added

March 27, 2007

The reviews and column from the February issue of Rogue Cinema are now available on the site, but beyond this news I’d like to explain the utter lack of material I’ve been offering here at CineBomb. To put it simply, the past month or so has seen a lot that warranted my attention, which resulted in my not contributing to the March issue of RC. However, the upcoming April issue will indeed feature new material, all of which I will be proud to see featured in Duane L. Martin’s publication. He and the rest of the RC crew are a great bunch to work with, and I thank them for the opportunity. Alright, enough confession! Go and take another look at those reviews, will ya?

ROGUE CINEMA: February 2007 Issue

February 2, 2007

Due to technical difficulties, the format for this post is different from the norm. While I don’t have individual links to each of my reviews and the latest edition of The Actor’s Perspective, you can easily access them by going to Rogue Cinema’s home page (roguecinema.com). Here’s a list of what this month’s issue includes in terms of my own submissions:

Reviews: Blast, The Ten Commandments: The Musical, A Snow White Christmas, and The Realm of Never: When Snowflakes Fall

The Actor’s Perspective - Rejection: February’s column concerns this harsh aspect of being an actor and how to deal with its effects.

Also, as usual, last month’s reviews and column have been posted on the site, so check ‘em out, forthwith. Forthwith, I say!
